Audrey Morrow

Counseling Intern

Audrey (she/her/hers) is a second-year Master’s of Social Work intern at the University of Denver. She is passionate about creating safe and affirming spaces that allow people to grow, connect with self, and connect with others. Audrey is passionate about incorporating strengths-based theories and modalities that are trauma-informed, culturally appropriate and meet the individual needs of the client. Her work is rooted in compassion, empathy, and creativity.

Audrey has a wide variety of experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults in both clinical and community settings. Her work has largely centered around uplifting the power of young people, creative self-expression, and creating community. She has several years of experiencing teaching dance and loves to incorporate movement and somatic processing into her therapeutic work.
In her free time, Audrey loves crafting, baking, and spending time with her dwarf rabbit, Midnight. She loves coffee, spending time with friends, dancing like no one is watching, and singing songs at the top of her lungs in the car.

Cultural Resume

• I am a white, cis-gender woman who grew up in a middle-class home in Appalachia. I acknowledge how these identities have given me unearned advantages and put me in a position of power over others. I am committed to the life-long work of questioning the systems of oppression that I benefit from and how I can leverage my privilege to dismantle them, within and beyond the therapeutic space.

• I identify as pansexual and my experience of growing up as queer in a small town in the Southeast is a central part of my identity. This identity and experience helps me relate to clients who have either had challenging experiences related to their queerness or who are struggling to accept their queer identity.

• I was raised as a Christian in the Episcopal church. Now, I practice agnostic spirituality, delighting in nature, nurturing connection, and appreciating beauty.I have lived the majority of my life experiencing and navigating anxiety and depression, and I have been in therapy for over 15 years.

• I have a family history of anxiety, depression, alcoholism, and suicide.

• I have lived experience with chronic illness and have loved ones with chronic illness and chronic pain.
